Jahdea Gildin is the Sommelier at Luthun, a progressive new American tasting menu concept located in the East Village. The program, which Gildin calls “an adventurous, unique, out-of-the-box wine list,” is intended to bring conversation while shedding light on underrepresented areas and groups through a sustainably-driven lens. The entire team at Luthun believes that everyone’s idea of a classic is different and worth exploring. Because of this, Gildin has made it his priority to bring varietals that represent the kinds of wines guests enjoy drinking and sharing with others.

Originally from San Pablo, CA, Gildin has been working in the hospitality industry for the last 15 years. His passion for wine stemmed from a tasting course he found himself wandering into in college and has since dedicated his adult life looking for expressive roles to share his love of tasting with others. When he’s not at Luthun, Gildin can be found traveling, cooking, and gearing up for his twice weekly soccer matches.
